Space Spice: The Seedy Side of Science Fiction
Let's face it, not all science fiction was created to stimulate the mind. Space spice is the red light district of science fiction and fantasy. Show off your Spicey Space costume, rank your favorite work on the Spice-O-Meter, and come to ridicule or ogle some of SF/F's trashier attractions. (Friday Only, 21+)
Room:
Cabana room request confirmed 6/5/01.
6/12 - Talked to hotel to confirm with credit card, informed that rooms are non-smoking, raised a stink via email with Convergence, haven't heard back. Will confirm with hotel over weekend or on Monday
6/13 - Received hotel confirmation. Sleeping room is listed as non, party room not specified other than second floor cabana room.
6/18 - Talked to the hotel, sleeping room is now booked as smoking, party room is still a non-smoking cabana room. (And reservation bumped back up to two nights.) Hotel is now full, so we can't try to get a different room. There may be a suite available in smoking, but only Ishmael can book that.
6/23 - Talked to the hotel. Ishmael cancelled my smoking room and kept the cabana room. Hotel was able to reverse that so now I only have one room, in smoking.
6/25 - Booked a smoking room at the Sofitel to sleep in on Friday night. Not happy.
6/26 - Jenny books a room at the Radisson straight through them.
6/28 - PARTY ROOM SET FOR ROOM 501!!!!!

Beverages will be served in test tube shot glasses. Case of 1000 received. Shot glasse will be placed in silver tin of ice. Margarita Party Ball for filling tubes. (Tested this 6/16 and it works great.) NOTE: Party Ball holds just over 8 litres, which should fill 340 test tubes. To fill all tubes, will need to load the party ball 3 times -- or 24 litres of punch.
Spice-O-Meter:
Pair up nominees, hand out set number of stickers when people enter party, say they can stick it on either side of the vs. to vote for who is spicier. Purchased the stickers 6/18, there are 5 different colored stickers, so maybe we should only have 5 posters?
